I recently picked up Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib’s, “They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us” from the library. After reading the first essay, I already want to own this book:
The words and ideas are beautifully written. I cannot wait to read more!

About 3 years ago I found the booktube community and felt like I had found my people. Where else can you find someone who won’t give you a glazed over look when you mention something like BookCon or how you formed a soft spot for Ronan Lynch in Maggie Steifvater‘s The Raven Boys?!
Anyway, about a year after that I made this blog and never posted. Fast forward one more year (to yesterday) when I made my first blog post and then….
POSTED MY FIRST VIDEO FOR MY BOOKTUBE!
After many failed intro video filmings through the years that sat unedited or permanently deleted due to self destructing hard drives, I finally posted a video.
Is it everything I wanted it to be? No. I constantly fight the perfectionist in myself accept small (and sometimes rather large) facts like: I cannot be a master at video editing the very first time I sit down to make a video.
You’ve got to start somewhere. This is my start:
It is readathon season again and I missed Cramathon and a couple others by finding out about them too late.
I am determined to participate in 3 upcoming readathons: TBR Takedown 2.0, 7 in 7, and of course the Booktubeathon.
Step 1: Make a calendar.
Now I have a reminder of when each one starts. Will this be enough to remember? We’ll see….
Hopefully today I can get to Step 2: Planning my TBR.
